Much of pastoral ministry cannot be captured in a document or a video. Many of the most memorable and significant moments in ministry occur in private, working with people to bring about growth, healing, and transformation. But I hope the following pieces give you a small window into who I am and what I do.

Sermon

Mark 9:30-32

The Questions We're

Afraid to Ask

This is a relatively typical sermon for me and captures the way my sermons always move from trouble to grace. It is important to bravely name our sins and challenges, but even more vital to see how God's grace overcomes such troubles.

Sermon

Mark 9:42-50

Everything 's on Fire

This is a less typical sermon, but I believe it displays my commitment to always preaching good news. Even when a text appears to be pure law, as this one does, there is good news to be found, and it is the preacher's calling to find it and share it with the congregation.

Resource

When I arrived at Malvern Baptist Church, we didn't have small groups. So I created this handbook as part of launching our new Community Group ministry. It was not meant to be a one-size-fits-all guide for all communities but was specially designed for my context, primarily composed of young professional parents. So the key was to keep things streamlined and sustainable. So far, it has served us well! Click the image to view a larger version of the handbook or scroll through them in the gallery.

Article

On Being Lead

This is an article I was asked to write for my church association, CBOQ. I was happy to write it, as it is on a topic I care about: mentorship. Plus, I was blessed to have been mentored by a great pastor as a part of my ordination process, so I had a positive experience to share. Click the image to access the article.

Imaginative Leadership

This is an excerpt from a much longer paper I wrote on the role of the imagination in leadership. It is a good example not just of how I write but also of how I think. Click the image to view the excerpt.
